Cafe and Visitors Centre Update

The Council has been in regular contact with our catering contractor about a possible phased re-opening of the café and visitor centre. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic it is not possible for the current operator to provide a financially viable catering service. At this stage cleaning staff also remain furloughed and as a result the visitor centre will remain closed while the council considers alternative arrangements to manage the café and provide COVID secure access to the public.

We appreciate this will be disappointing news as we had hoped to re-open the facility as restrictions lifted. The Council remains committed to finding an alternative operator to manage the café and anyone wishing to express an interest should in the first instance contact hhp@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk As a short term alternative we are looking to provide a refreshment offer via a mobile unit.

The park remains open as valuable green space for the community with a limited activity programme. More information on what activities are on offer can be found using the contact details below. Please remember when using the park to take in to account Government advice about social distancing and regular handwashing.

We will provide a further update as soon as possible.
